FAQ and Troubleshooting

Quick answers about Page Scans, scores, allowances, sharing, and common recovery steps.

Frequently asked questions

Which pages can I scan?
Publicly accessible HTTP and HTTPS pages. Private or local network addresses, URLs with embedded credentials, unsafe ports, and unsafe redirect targets are blocked. A page may still return limited evidence when its publisher blocks a provider or renderer.
Why did I receive a Partial Result?
At least one Assessment Area could not obtain enough validated evidence, while another area still produced a useful result. FutureContent shows the available scores and unavailable areas, but never invents or reweights an overall score.
Why can a rescan have a different score?
A rescan observes the live page again. Page content, response behavior, provider measurements, and the active Evaluation Version can differ. Each result stays immutable so the comparison does not rewrite history.
When does the Free daily allowance reset?
At the start of each UTC day. Accepted Page Scan starts consume the allowance; rejected submissions do not.
Can I keep my Guest result?
Yes. Create an account from the Guest result before its 24-hour access window expires. The claim moves the existing result into the Free Workspace without recalculating it.
Who can create a Share Link?
A Workspace Owner or Admin. The link is read-only, can be revoked independently, and cannot outlive the retained result. Members cannot manage Share Links.
Is Pro available?
Not yet. Pro is a roadmap plan. Pricing, scan allowances, retention, and team-seat limits remain uncommitted until the plan is activated.

Troubleshooting

The page URL is rejected

Check that it is an HTTP or HTTPS URL for a public hostname. Remove credentials from the URL and confirm that DNS resolves to a public address.

A Page Scan is delayed

Keep the result page open. Provider throttling or temporary availability can schedule an automatic retry, and the progress view will label recovery rather than presenting a false failure.

One Assessment Area is unavailable

Use the other evidence in the Partial Result, then rescan later. A publisher policy, retrieval failure, provider timeout, moderation boundary, or insufficient validated evidence can affect one area without erasing the others.

A Magic Link does not complete sign-in

Open the latest link in the same browser session that requested it. Magic Links expire and are single-use; request a new one if the link is old or was already opened elsewhere.

A result or Share Link no longer opens

The result may have reached its retention boundary, or the Share Link may have been revoked. Expired Guest and Free results cannot be restored from the public result route.
